Friends keep Tweeting on fringLONDON, 30 March 2009, fring today launched its next generation Twitter 2.0 Add-on, boasting a range of new functionality, harnessing all of Twitter’s exciting social features, and enabling friends to share their Tweeting experiences with each other from their mobiles. In response to feedback from fringsters and the phenomenal explosion of Twitter since it was first mobilized on fring two years ago, the all new Twitter 2.0 Add-on for fring includes the ability to Tweet from directly inside fring, to view other Twitter profiles, check-out your own followers and see who’s following you, as well as view and include links. A new keyword search enables you to keep a close eye on a particular topic or story, and track its developments in Twitterland. There’s a cool new look and feel to the user interface making it even easier to tweet from inside fring, with optional notifications of new Tweets as they arrive, with or without a sound alert so fring can let you twitter away silently without interrupting anyone. And there is more: fring has also released the source code to the new Twitter 2.0 Add-on, and additional add-ons. Now, the web developers community can see fring API in action, re-use the code and mashup their own social experiences with fring. Avi Shechter, fring’s CEO and co-founder, commented: “The new fring Twitter 2.0 add-on represents the evolving development of mobile social functionality, designed to enable friends to interact, share experiences and stay connected via their mobile device, the ultimate social platform.” There are two ways to get the new Twitter 2.0 add-on for fring: Windows Mobile fringsters go to the add-ons tab inside fring, unsubscribe from the old Twitter & re-subscribe to the new Add-on. Symbian users, simply download the new fring version 3.37.20 first, then unsubscribe from the old Twitter & re-subscribe to the new Add-on.
