fring presents communication application suite optimized for
the Intel® Atom™ Processor at OSiM 2008 in Berlin
fring uses Moblin framework and tools to deliver a compelling Internet experience on these devices
London, 17 September, 2008, fring announces their communication application suite based on Moblin, the open source software stack optimized for Intel® Atom™ processor based devices hosted on Moblin.org.
fring has been working closely with Intel to optimize fring’s award-winning mobile VoIP, IM and mobile internet community application for the Intel Atom processor based products running on the Moblin platform, such as MIDs (Mobile Internet Devices) netbooks and nettops.
fring will demonstrate how the mobile Voice over IP, Instant Messaging and mobile internet community solution takes advantage of the Intel Atom processor platform at the OSIM event in Berlin 17-18 September 2008. Being an open-source event, this will give developers an opportunity to see fring’s recently released open API in action, and learn about the benefits and opportunities of developing on the fring platform.
Boaz Zilberman, co-founder & chief technology architect at fring said: “We are glad to have designed such a strong and reliable product optimized for the Intel Atom processor platform and the Moblin.org open source framework. We have a strong belief in open source development, illustrated by the release of our open API. We also believe in the trend towards ultra-mobility. The Intel Atom processor and also Intel’s work in to the Moblin initiative illustrate Intel’s commitment to this market, so we are delighted to have the opportunity of demonstrating our solution to the developer community at OSIM in Berlin
“We welcome fring’s efforts in delivering communication solutions for Intel® Atom™ processor based platforms.” said Ram Peddibhotla, marketing director, System Software Division, Intel Corporation. “With fring’s mobile communication suite running on Moblin based software, customers can expect good Internet and media experience on these Internet-centric mobile devices like Mobile Internet Devices and netbooks.”
